“A critical reason for a summer solstice celebration”

June 21, the day of the summer solstice, is considered to be the actual beginning of summer. In 1982, the then Minister of Culture of France, Jacques Lange, established it as a day to celebrate European Music Day.

Combining this double semiology of June 21, the music critic Thanos Manzanas, on this year’s summer equinox, presents a “radio concert”, exclusively for the listeners of the Third Program.
