June 21, the day of the summer solstice, is considered the beginning of summer. In 1982, the then Minister of Culture of France, Jacques Lange, established it as a day to celebrate European Music Day. Combining this double semiotics of June 21st, music critic Thanos Manzanas, on this year’s summer equinox, presents a “radio concert” on the show “Kritikos Logos” on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd June at 18:00, and on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 June, at the same time, exclusively for the listeners of the Third Program.

Fourteen Greek bands from the areas of jazz, rock, blues, soul and funk, pop and electronica, recorded live in the Hellenic Radio studio, arrangements of summer songs and instrumentals as well as some of their own pieces, with themes that associated with the hottest time of the year.

The four shows feature (in alphabetical order) Dirty Fuse, Green Was Greener, Johnny Labelle, Lazytrains, Loose Ties, Martzi Feelgood Band, Miniature Solar Systems, Pasific Eyes, Pink Vanity, Stelios Hatzikaleas & Michalis Tsiftsis Duo, Synth A, StarWound , Tilemachos Moussas Quartet featuring Nasssia Gofa and Yeah!
